Stacked Deck Press, 2018

The first compendium of comics written and drawn exclusively by trans creators, edited by Tara Madison Avery and Jeanne Thornton, with a foreword by the much-missed Rachel Pollock. I had the honor of contributing the cover image as well as “Love is like a Cephalopod,” a short story about trans girls at the beach. You can buy a copy here.

The Graphic Canon, Vol. 3

Seven Stories Press, 2013

For volume 3 of the celebrated Graphic Canon series, a New York Times bestseller, edited by Russ Kick, I adapted two poems into the language of comics: D.H. Lawrence’s “The Mowers” (1913) and H.D.’s “Sea Iris” (1916).

The Brooklyn Rail

Two pieces, published in The Brooklyn Rail, a publication and platform for the arts, culture, humanities, and politics in September 2012 and November 2013, at the behest of Tom Motley.

Ground Crew, a short comic published as part of the Belladonna Collaborative’s Chaplet Series in July 2023. In their own words: “Belladonna* Collaborative promotes the work of women and feminist writers who are adventurous, experimental, politically involved, multi-form, impossible to define, unpredictable, and dangerous with language. “

Draw the Line

Street Noise Books, 2021

A one-page comic I contributed to Draw the Line, a “To Do list for changing the world,”, published by Street Noise Books, publisher of my graphic memoir, Spellbound.

“The Draw the Line Artists are over 100 artists from sixteen countries who illustrate positive political actions in comic form. All have agreed to donate their proceeds from the sale of this book to Choose Love, a nonprofit organization helping refugees and displaced people around the world.”

Dream Another Dream

Beyond, Vol. II: The Queer Post-apocalyptic & Urban Fantasy Comic Anthology

Beyond Press, 2018

I contributed the short story“Karana” to Volume II of the amazing Beyond series, “Featuring 27 stories by 39 contributors, Beyond vol. 2 is a 350+ page black & white queer comic anthology full of renegade city fae, post-apocalyptic bicycle gangs, reclusive monster boyfriends, and mysterious sewer-dwelling mermaids. Each story celebrates and showcases unquestionably queer characters as they explore back-alley faery rings, secret magic markets, and wander the dusty, rust-ragged edges of society after the end of the world!”

Birds of Paradise

An early comic published in issue no. 3 of Hi-horse, a comics anthology that me and three friends put out in the early 00s. Alternative Comics published Hi-horse Omnibus in 2004, which expanded the lineup of featured artists to 18.
